A new aviation director is about to take charge in Las Vegas
James C. Chrisley has been promoted to become the next director of aviation for Clark County, which includes Harry Reid Airport in Las Vegas.
Chrisley was previously the senior director of aviation under director Rosemary Vassiliadis, who is retiring on Sept. 12 after leading the department since 2013. In his previous role, Chrisley helped plan and execute airport operations for the Formula 1 Las Vegas Grand Prix races and Super Bowl LVIII. He has also led planning for the Southern Nevada Supplemental Airport.
Before joining the Clark County Department of Aviation a decade ago, he served more than 21 years in the U.S. Air Force as a civil engineering and mission support officer. In that role, he directed critical security, airfield operations, logistics and emergency services.
